Completed Autumn ATC

Back in September, I signed up for the Very Berry Handmade Fabric ATC swap (you can read my original post here).  The date for sending is the week starting the 4 November, so I have finally completed mine.

The theme was autumn, and I have been thinking about it for a while.  My partner has very helpfully been updating her Flickr account with inspiration of things and styles which she likes.  I used a combination of back stitch, a couple of cross stitches and and appliqué to make my ATC.  My final design was based on a couple of the ideas which I found on Flickr.

My leaf was made from a piece of Liberty Tana Lawn, and I embellished it a bit with my own version of seed stitch, to give it a bit of texture.  You can see the detail a bit more in the picture below.

Check out some of the other ATCs on this Very Berry Flickr page.  There are some incredibly talented people out there!  I’m looking forward to seeing what my partner has come up with – I’ll post some pictures once it comes through.

Silver and Brass Leaf Bracelet

Happy Saturday from a very soggy South Coast…  I thought I would share another one of my metal work creations.  It is a hammered silver bracelet, with oxidised brass leaves which nearly meet in the middle.  It has a definite Autumnal vibe to it, but I tend to wear this one quite a lot as it is nice and chunky.  I hope you like it!
