Camping in Sussex

The other weekend I went camping with some friends at Housedean Farm near Lewes.  This is the view from our pitch.  Although the road noise was quite loud, it is very close to Brighton, on the South Downs way, has nice toilets and showers, is very reasonable and also the staff were very friendly and helpfulcampsite view

We rocked up with a bbq, camping stove, some chairs and a huge tent which proved useful as we could sit inside when it rained!

We were pretty lucky with the weather in that it only rained heavily at night, so we got a good long walk in on the Saturday.  Part of our walk took us to the top of the Downs above Kingston.  Here is a shot of the amazing view from the top, although we were being blown away at this point it was so windy. kingston view

I do feel very lucky that this sort of experience and view is so close to where I live, and yet I still get the benefit of walking into a city when I fancy something a bit more cosmopolitan!
