Crochet class

Last night I went to a crochet class held at Super+Super in Brighton.  They have been open just over a year, and host all sorts of interesting crafty sessions, including sock making, soap making and regular film nights (definitely planning to go along to one of them.)  Crochet is one of my dabble crafts, and I am very much a beginner.  I found the class really helpful to get more of an idea about tension, learning the basic stitches and a nice edging.  Sometimes you just need someone to talk you through the process.  This is the sampler which I came away with, not very attractive but I finally feel I have mastered the basics! crochet sampler

I was so inspired that I treated myself to some new wool from the charity shop – fairly chunky reddish/pinky coloured and also this variegated turquoise one which I want to use to edge and make flowers for my shawl. charity shop woolI have also booked myself in to go to the Brighton bloggers tea party in May at Super+Super – it involves tea and cake if nothing else, and I may get some good tips 🙂
