This is just a quick post about an activity which I did with my guides last week, linking to both Thinking Day and International Women’s Day, which was yesterday. As well as giving the girls the chance to be kids in a safe, girl-only space, guiding in my opinion is all about encouraging self-belief and positivity, and this activity embodies that. Each girl made a paper envelope which they decorated. They then wrote their name on another piece of paper, which we spread around the room. The girls then went round all the pieces of paper and put a nice, anonymous comment on them. Each girl now has an envelope of nice comments which they can look at if they ever feel down. This is my sheet!
The girls seemed to enjoy it, and all wrote lovely things about each other. I’d recommend it as an activity for any age group, as everyone likes to feel loved!
